DEPARTMENT HEAD (M/F/D) SOFTWARE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT


Full-time

The Diocese of Augsburg is seeking, as soon as possible, a Department Head (m/f/d) for the Software Design and Development division within Department VIII – IT Division – for a permanent, full-time position (39 hours per week). The position is based in Augsburg.

To strategically advance our IT, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader (m/f/d) to head the Software Design and Development division.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Technical leadership and coordination of the Software Design and Development division
  • Technical leadership and guidance of an interdisciplinary team of software developers
  • Responsibility for the further development of software architecture and development standards within the framework of established IT guidelines
  • Participation in the planning and management of development projects, taking into account resources and timelines
  • Close collaboration with business units, project managers, and IT management
  • Coordinating and collaborating on the selection of suitable platforms and technologies for new applications in close cooperation with the technical administrators of other departments, taking into account the existing system and platform landscape
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements (e.g., IT security, data protection, accessibility) within the area of responsibility
  • Introduction and further development of modern development processes
  • Participation in the implementation of the organization’s digitalization measures

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally with responsibility for architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of modern software architectures
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Conceptual and strategic thinking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Identification with the principles and goals of the Catholic Church
