IT Specialist in Client Management

Here, you drive change

Optimization of client management processes through automation and improvement of installation and maintenance tasks, with a focus on requirements from R&D projects (70%)

• Support for application servers in the research departments for research and development projects, with special consideration given to issues raised by the research and development departments
• Adapting client devices to meet the changing requirements of research projects
• Support, administration, and optimization of the client infrastructure following cloud migration based on Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender
• Creation of a knowledge base based on assyst in the area of incident management, including workarounds and proposed solutions for faster resolution of issues and for the ITT service desk
• Creation of documentation (system descriptions, user manuals, online help) for system documentation

First- and second-level support for client systems at Fraunhofer SIT Darmstadt: (30%)

• Planning, configuration, installation, and administration of client computer systems, including remote maintenance of client devices
• Advising users on software and hardware issues
• Installation and administration of application servers
• Resolving application issues
• Collaborating on the development of processes to optimize standard workflows and automate services and self-service options for users in the areas of client management and service operations

Here’s how you can contribute

• Completed IT training (IT specialist) or comparable skills or experience
• Demonstrable experience in managing and securing modern client infrastructures based on Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender
• Experience in supporting and administering operating systems on Linux, Windows, and Mac, as well as client management systems. Experience with Empirum from Matrix42 is a plus
• Experience working in a service-oriented, ITIL-structured environment
• Experience implementing change management processes
• Experience in implementing service design processes
• Ability to handle pressure, an independent work style, flexibility, teamwork skills, and strong communication skills

The weekly working hours are 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. Employment, compensation, and benefits are based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (TVöD). In addition, Fraunhofer may grant performance- and success-based variable compensation components.
