Application Engineer (m/f/d) Functional Safety

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Processing and responding to external and internal product inquiries in the area of safety regarding the intended use and functional purpose
  • Providing technical support and solution-oriented advice to our customers
  • Developing solutions to ensure quick and smooth verification at the customer’s site
  • Assisting with technical consulting for customers at trade shows, events, and during visits

Requirements

  • A successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field
  • Several years of relevant professional experience; ideally in the field of functional safety
  • Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer or a comparable qualification is desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and IEC 62061 is desirable
  • Understanding of safety architectures and performance levels, as well as knowledge of machine safety and CE marking
  • Experience with risk assessment methods (e.g., FMEDA) is an advantage
  • Communication and presentation skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders, along with a confident, professional demeanor paired with strong communication skills and a customer- and service-oriented approach
  • An independent, structured, and reliable work style, combined with out-of-the-box thinking for problem-solving
  • Enjoyment of dedicated and team-oriented collaboration
  • Willingness to travel for occasional (including international) business trips
  • Excellent written and spoken German (minimum C2 or native level) and excellent written and spoken English (minimum C1 level)
