IT Application Manager for Control Technology (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:

• Operation, support, and further development of control technology applications (e.g., control and process control systems, SCADA, monitoring and control systems)
• Ensuring system availability, including fault analysis, troubleshooting, and error correction
• Planning, coordination, and implementation of changes and releases (configuration extensions, functional adjustments, system upgrades), including testing, documentation, and coordination of maintenance windows
• Design, documentation, and optimization of interfaces between control technology and connected systems (e.g., asset management / maintenance management, reporting systems)
• Collaboration on the design and implementation of IT security measures in the control technology environment (access concepts, hardening, patch management, backup/recovery)
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, and emergency and recovery plans for control technology applications
• Supporting business units in requirements gathering, evaluating changes (change requests), and implementing them in the applications
• Coordinating and collaborating with external service providers and manufacturers (e.g., in the event of malfunctions, project-based expansions, or lifecycle projects)
• Collaboration and sub-project management in IT and digitalization projects related to control technology (e.g., development and implementation of new modules, integration of new systems, data analysis of use cases)

Your Profile:

• A degree in (Business) Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a comparable qualification, e.g., as an IT Specialist in System Integration (m/f/d)
• Several years of professional experience in application support, ideally in the control technology / SCADA environment or in production-related IT systems
• Solid technical understanding of IT infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers, networks, databases)
• A basic understanding of the specific characteristics of critical infrastructure (KRITIS) and IT/OT security in the water management sector is desirable
• Analytical, structured, and responsible work style, as well as a strong focus on service and quality
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate constructively with various stakeholders (operations, planning, IT, external service providers)
• Excellent written and spoken German
• Class B driver’s license
