We are seeking a full-time

IT Specialist (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities will include, in particular:

• Administration, support, and further development of the client/server system landscape (e.g., MS Windows Server 2016–2025, MS Exchange Server, MS SQL Server, MS Active Directory Services, VMware HCI)
• Monitoring, administration, and maintenance of the local network (firewall, switches, routers, VPN connections)
• Backup and restore for physical and virtual servers
• Support for media technology
• Independent management of IT projects (e.g., planning, implementation)
• 1st- and 2nd-level support, including technical assistance and support for employees, branch offices, and municipal facilities
• Maintenance of existing application servers
• Maintenance of network infrastructure and client support
• Management of mobile devices (MDM: iOS/Android)
• Support for the municipal Wi-Fi infrastructure
• Point of contact for teachers and students at local middle and elementary schools regarding technical issues and coordination of external service providers
• Creation of system and process documentation

In this area, we primarily work in a team-oriented manner; we jointly determine the specific focus of your individual responsibilities based on your prior experience.

How you will complement our team:

• Completed training as an IT specialist in system integration or comparable qualification or professional experience
• Several years of professional experience in the field of system administration, if possible
• In-depth knowledge of
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Linux Server Administration
  • VMware Virtualization
  • Network Administration
  • Citrix Virtual Apps + Desktops (CVAD), Machine Creation Service (MCS), Citrix Provisioning (PVS)
• Experience in IT security/antivirus (firewall, endpoint security)
• Proficiency with common Microsoft products (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL)
• Willingness to pursue independent professional development in light of developments in the IT sector
• Committed and independent work with methodological competence
• Communication, cooperation, and teamwork skills
• Good written and spoken German and English skills
• Willingness to work flexibly, including occasionally outside of regular working hours
• Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, and a “hands-on” mentality
• Class B driver’s license
