Perform and interpret simulation studies for innovative semiconductor test solutions and semiconductor devices Analyze emerging semiconductor technologies, process trends, and device architectures, and assess their impact on future semiconductor IC test requirements and strategies. Evaluate technology-related challenges such as process variations, defect categories, packaging issues, transistor behavior, thermal effects, and reliability mechanisms from both device and test application perspectives. Translate device-level findings into system-level implications, helping define test methodologies, characterization approaches, and future semiconductor IC test product directions. Support technology scouting, feasibility studies, and pathfinding activities in collaboration with customers, research institutes, foundries, and internal development teams. Act as a technical bridge between semiconductor technology, product definition, and test solution development, contributing to innovative prototype solutions on the Advantest V93000 platform. Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Technology, Microsystems Engineering, Computational Computer Science, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related discipline. Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics, CMOS technologies, transistor operation, and semiconductor manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience with semiconductor modeling and simulation tools such as SIMCENTER, TCAD, SPICE, ANSYS, or equivalent semiconductor and multiphysics simulation environments. Knowledge of advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, including chiplets, heterogeneous integration, advanced interconnects, and 2.5D/3D architectures. Solid understanding of semiconductor reliability topics, including aging effects, electromigration, self-heating, thermal cycling, package-induced stress, and failure mechanisms. Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration abilities across diverse teams, cultures, and organizational levels Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required, German is preferred. Willingness to travel occasionally up to 20%.
