For our Design Team in Munich we are looking for a

3D Polygon Modeler (m/f/x)

ONVO is looking for a 3D Polygon Modeler to join our automotive design team. You will create high-fidelity vehicle models and environments that define our brand’s visual identity across design reviews, marketing, and digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

• High-Fidelity Modeling: Develop complex 3D polygon models of vehicles (exterior/interior) and props with meticulous attention to surface continuity and edge flow.
• World Building: Design and assemble full 3D environments—from minimalist architectural studios to expansive, realistic landscapes—to serve as backdrops for our fleet.
• Material Design: Create and apply advanced PBR textures and shaders that accurately represent automotive paints, glass, textiles, and alloys.
• Lighting & Rendering: Master studio and natural lighting setups to produce "hero" imagery for design reviews and marketing campaigns.
• Motion & Narrative: Transform static assets into compelling visual stories through camera animation, vehicle movement, and cinematic video editing.

Qualifications:

• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Maya is required.
• Polygon Expertise: Deep understanding of sub-division surface modeling, clean topology, and edge-flow optimization.
• Rendering Engines: Experience with industry-standard renderers such as V-Ray, Arnold, or Redshift.
• Visual Eye: A strong grasp of form, silhouette, and proportions, specifically within the automotive sector.
• Portfolio: A professional reel or portfolio demonstrating high-poly automotive models and environment work.

"Plus" Skills

• Experience with real-time engines like Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or another software for video post-production and compositing.
• Previous experience working directly with automotive designers to bridge the gap between concept and technical reality.
• AI Integration: Familiarity with AI-driven design tools and workflows.
