Site manager, Berlin

Want to join a company growing 10x a year in one of our most important operational roles? We're looking for someone to take ownership of our Berlin hub and scale it to handle tens of thousands of computers a month. You'll inherit a team of 15 people and will be scaling it quickly. As our central European markets grow, so will your team and your responsibility.

What is Prenew

At Prenew, we give used PCs a second life by purchasing, refurbishing them in house and reselling them in our webstore. We're a VC-backed start-up founded in Finland with ambitious goals and a dedicated team, and this year we've expanded to all of Europe. Our Berlin hub is the operational engine behind our whole central European market, and it's growing fast.

What you'll actually be doing

• Running the site's day-to-day operations: intake, refurbishment flow, quality control and outbound shipping
• Hitting and improving throughput, defect rate, and efficiency targets on the floor
• Building and structuring the site management structure and team as we scale, including recruiting
• Managing the team day to day: leading, coaching and developing people so they grow into bigger roles
• Building a strong site culture, one people want to stay and grow in as the site scales
• Reporting site status and blockers to HQ clearly and proactively, not just when asked
• Spotting problems before they become blockers, and fixing them
• Managing vendor and logistics relationships tied to the site, including carriers, facility, and suppliers

What success looks like

To succeed in this role, we expect you to plan throughput, efficiency and capacity goals together with the head of operations and HQ, and to execute against those plans to hit the goals. You'll also be responsible for giving the Finnish HQ team accurate, proactive visibility into site status, and for surfacing blockers as they come up. And together with the HQ team, you'll make sure the site is never a blocker for company growth or sales.

What we're looking for

• Ambition and a hunger for growth in the role with the company
• A hands-on, get-it-done attitude: you like building things, not just managing them
• A few years of relevant experience in operations, logistics, warehouse management, or a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience leading or coordinating a team in a physical/operational setting
• Ability to adapt to ambiguity and a fast-changing environment
• Fluent in English, German is an advantage

Compensation: €60-80k/year + equity
