European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide range of experimental techniques.
For our Data Department we are looking for a
The Position
Support the development and implementation of the organization's overarching cyber security strategy and policies
Support in the risk management of the organisation, identify emerging threats and prepare responses to protect the organization's digital assets
Identify, evaluate and implement security tools and technologies which fortify the organization's defensive measures against cyberattacks
Design tests and other technical and organizational assessments to highlight weaknesses and determine risk areas
Foster a culture of security awareness within European XFEL, by organizing security training sessions, awareness programs, and promoting best practices amongst employees
Close collaboration with other key stakeholders, groups and IT experts in order to maintain the highest level of security across the organisation
Requirements
Proven experience working in a similar role
Relevant academic degree, or equivalent professional experience
Strong hands-on experience in IT security, network administration, or incident response
Certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), will be an advantage
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across the organization
Providing legally and technically relevant training
Fluency in English and professional proficiency in German

Salary range (monthly before tax): min. 11/1 corresponding to 4.269,64 € - max 13/6 corresponding to 7.025,87 €, the actual level is defined by the individual work experience, here is the link to the current valid
Depending on the pay group, we offer an annual special payment of 75-95% of one month’s salary.
