At UOS, we manage a global offshore workforce supporting vessels and projects around the world. We are looking for an experienced Recruiter - Crew Operations to manage the end-to-end recruitment of seagoing personnel (officers, ratings and specialist crew) for the company's offshore support vessel fleet serving the oil and gas industry.
Your Impact
You will focus on sourcing, screening and placing highly qualified and experienced crew who meet industry standards as a minimum, hold the required certification, and satisfy client and stakeholder expectations, while ensuring recruitment activities are efficient, cost-effective and compliant with national and international regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Be the focal point of contact for offshore crew recruitment and sourcing
- Manages the full recruitment life cycle from vacancy request through to onboarding handover
- Builds and maintains a qualified talent pool of seagoing personnel to meet current and future manning needs
- Ensures candidates meet STCW, MLC and client/tender certification requirements before progressing
- Confirms candidate readiness and maintains regular contact throughout the recruitment process
- Monitors legal instructions and maritime laws and regulations relevant to recruitment and employment
- Ensures new/local regulations are followed and that recruitment practices remain compliant
- Makes cost-effective sourcing and recruitment decisions based on all information available
- Drives the development of recruitment processes to provide a high standard service to the crewing department, candidates and stakeholders
- Oversees that candidates are equipped with, or scheduled for, the right certification and training to comply with tender requirements, maritime legislation and UOS standards
- Takes an active part in audits and audit follow ups and ensures that recruitment records and files are up to the required standards
- Continuously drives process improvements and incorporates lessons learned to consistently enhance the candidate experience.
- Creates, maintains, analyses and monitors recruitment budgets and agency costs
- Fulfils other administrative duties
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or experience in HR, Nautical Science or similar
- Offshore/seagoing background strongly preferred (e.g. prior service aboard offshore support vessels or similar), providing credibility in the technical vetting of seafaring candidates
- 2-4 years' experience in recruitment: job postings, active sourcing, interviews scheduling, manning agencies contact etc. ideally within an international shipping, offshore or oil & gas company
- Working knowledge of STCW and MLC regulations and how they apply to crew certification
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and/or crew/manning databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Demonstrates confidentiality and integrity in all professional matters
- Experience in dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information
- Experience with international travel arrangements and coordination of pre-joining logistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German is a great plus.
